Another week, another bulletin! This week, I’m taking you into the epic world of Where Winds Meet, the tactical and strategic arena of Bloodgrounds, and on a journey through time in this week’s Snippets of the Past.

Kicking Asses With Wuxia!

Games based on Asian cultures and mythologies are in high demand at the moment, and Everstone Studio just released its own version in Where Winds Meet. The open-world action-adventure game is set in tenth-century China and officially dropped on the 14th of November. Players take on the role of a young sword master, whose legend grows as they uncover the truth behind their own identity. The game lets players customise their characters for full immersion. Additionally, Where Winds Meet features an exciting and unique Wuxia combat system, allowing the players to alter their combat styles to their heart’s content. The game offers a wide range of landscapes, from hidden temples to large imperial cities, showcasing the amazing artwork of the design team. On top of that, the developers did an amazing job with the mythical creatures that inhabit the world. (See the image below.)

The Ground Turns Bloody Red In The Colosseum

Have you ever wondered what it was like to be a Gladiator in Ancient Rome? I’m sure you have! Right? Well, Exordium Games’ Bloodgrounds lets you experience the bloody reality (to a certain extent, at least). The game combines tactical turn-based combat with a Roguelike RPG, and includes strategic elements as well. Players take up the role of a seasoned veteran of the blood sport, training his own team of Gladiators to take revenge against a tyrannical emperor.

Before every tournament, players will have to pick, train, and ready their champions to fight for them, getting the player closer to their ultimate goal. Among other buildings and options, inns allow players to recruit new Gladiators, academies will teach them new attacks, and infirmaries will get them back into tip-top shape after they take damage in the arena. This last step is very important because dead means dead in this game. If a champion falls, he’s gone for good!

To keep their team alive, players will have to act wisely and be strategic about which attacks, classes, and positions they use where and at what point in the game. Win battle after battle to climb the social ladder and reach the emperor on his throne.

The game dropped on November 5th in an Early Access version and has received regular patches ever since, so don’t be discouraged if you encounter a problem! The developers are working hard to turn this into a top-tier game! With a 76% positive rating on Steam, it looks like it is well on its way.

Snippets Of The Past

Rockstar has delayed Grand Theft Auto 6 for a second time. The game, originally scheduled for May 2026, has now been pushed to November 2026, adding another six months to the wait. According to the spokesperson, the team needs extra time to further polish the game before its release.

The Namco Legendary Pack DLC, which dropped on November 13th, adds new content to the Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration interactive journey. People who are unfamiliar with the concept (don’t worry, I was too) can enjoy the crossover between a documentary and a video game, as the DLC re-releases three Atari PAC-MAN games, in addition to games such as GALAGA and DIG DUG.

Despite initial expectations, Anno 117: Pax Romana has received mixed reviews, with a 64% positive rating on Steam, since its release on November 12th. Although many players are enjoying the game, critiques about the AI artwork, lack of depth in the story, and less-than-desirable performance of the graphics and multiplayer mode have started to emerge. It seems Ubisoft might need to tweak the game a little more with a patch or two.

Valve has announced its new console: The Steam Machine. This may not be about the historical content of a game, but Valve might be writing history within the world of games, right here. The small cube is essentially a PC that lets you play all of Steam’s games on your TV, meaning players who prefer to use a console/controller will gain access to a large number of games. They have not released the price or exact release date just yet.
